No Static

Face the Static was another show I saw this weekend.  Including musicians like Toki Wright and Mike Mictlan.  The show was a mix of music, dance, and art.  It was an event to advocate voting in the upcoming Minnesota elections.  Ken Pentel was at the event speaking on behalf of his own campaign.  He is a part of the ecology democracy party.  I talked with him for a while and he seems like a great influence Minnesota could definitely use.  As he was leaving the show I saw him with his helmet on ready to bike home.  Seems like a perfect fit.

K-os with Terra

My sister Terra and I saw K-os last night at the Turf Club in St. Paul.  The show was incredible.  I love his music.  It has a perfect mix between hip hop, rhymes, and jazz.  What Terra and I liked the most about the show was the very calm atmosphere in the club.  There was no pushing and everyone was perfectly chill.  It was just a great show and a great night.  I took some pictures right underneath the performers which was really fun.  I got a few nice shots. Enjoy!

Macro mode love

Everyone is guilty of it and I can't get enough of it. I could take pictures of flowers on macro mode all day.  Here are a few of my favorites from my large collection of flower shots :)

Sarah & Helen

I went out with my friend Sarah and her little sister Helen on a gorgeous Minnesota fall day at our local Lake Harriet Rose Gardens.  Lighting was tricky due to the fact that we were out right around 2:30 so the sun was extremely bright and inconsistent.  This was my first time out taking pictures with "models" so it was fun to direct and try different poses and areas to take pictures.  I am usually with my boyfriend who would rather stay behind the camera rather then in front.  Too bad for him he is usually always around and due for some photos to be taken. Here are a few from my Sunday photography session with Sarah and Helen.
